Kerala Ayurveda Limited (KAL) was founded in 1945 by KGK Panicker, a renowned healer on the Periyar River in Cochin, Kerala, India. Over the decades, it grew from an apothecary and clinic to a full spectrum Ayurvedic business spanning academies, hospitals throughout India, award-winning retreats, and a FDA audited manufacturing facility with over 300 traditional Ayurvedic herbal products.

Kerala Ayurveda’s research and development is a pioneering force for studying and validating the power of Ayurvedic medicine with modern technology. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) awarded KAL its first patent in 2022 for a uniquely processed proprietary herbal formulation, including the efficacy of the herbal composition in the management of metabolic syndrome disorders such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, and lipid profile management. Additionally, the patent covers the herbal composition’s use in the preparation of food supplements, pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals in appropriate dosage forms such as beverages/liquids, capsules, tablets, granules, jellies, and more.

Kerala Ayurveda USA is a 100% subsidiary of KAL and opened in Seattle, WA in 2006 as a wellness center with one 500-hour training program for practitioners. As the professional Ayurvedic industry grew in the U.S., program offerings were expanded, and the center relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Today, the Academy is one of the largest schools in the U.S. and is approved to operate in the states of CA and WA as well as for online training. The professional track offers three levels of professional certification in alignment with the National Ayurvedic Medical Associations’ standards, as well as short programs for continuing education, internships in India, and introductory courses. Over the past decade, the Academy & Wellness Center have become greener with increasing use of digital forms and course training manuals, as well offering more virtual classes and consultations. For products, we recently introduced new glass jars & bottles made from non-toxic raw materials (silica, sand, soda ash, limestone and up to 70% recycled glass).
